Call for Papers: “Beyond the Eruption” (Journal of Quaternary Science Special Issue)
We are pleased to invite contributions to a forthcoming Special Issue of the Journal of Quaternary Science, entitled:
Beyond the Eruption: Advances and Applications in Distal Tephra Analysis Across the Geosciences
This special issue will bring together cutting-edge developments in the detection, characterisation, and application of distal tephra research. We welcome submissions on, but not limited to, the following themes:
Novel methods and best practices (e.g., tephra detection, geochemical fingerprinting, database development, Bayesian modelling, machine learning)
New applications and interdisciplinary case studies (e.g., synchronising palaeoclimate records, constraining archaeological sequences, reconstructing volcanic hazards, assessing climate–volcano interactions)
Regional and global frameworks (e.g., synthesis studies, records from understudied regions, and long-distance/transatlantic correlations)
